Since my 21st birthday is coming up, I want to reminisce the most recent big party that I had. It was during my 18th birthday. Filipino girls traditionally celebrate their 18th birthday, which marks maturity, by throwing a large party, which is called a ‘Debut.’ It is similar to the Quinceañera celebration of the Latin American girls but takes place in the 18th birthday, and not in the 15th birthday. Actually, I do not really like to have a big party but I just want to experience planning a party on my own so I opted to have one and thanks for my family for giving me the chance.
I love colors and I think nothing is more colorful than a circus!
Let me introduces statue dancer/guard 1 and 2. I was in the mall when I saw one of them dancing and chasing someone. My interest to hire them made me chase him. It was a really funny experience.
THE DEBUT PHOTOSHOOT:

Yes, I look different. Haha.
THE VENUE: Philippine Army Officers’ Clubhouse, Fort Bonifacio
This is the venue, filled with colorful balloons and streamers. By the way, that’s my sister dressed up as a mime.

THE PROGRAMME: Presentation + Dinner + 18 Jesters (set of guys which danced with me) + 18 Sparklers (set of girls which gave heart warming wishes for me) + 18 Similies (set of people who gave me something which they compare me to)
This photo booth served also as an entertainment for the guests while they wait for the program to start.
Of course, a birthday party wouldn’t be complete without the celebrant blowing the candle — or someone blowing the candle for her. Haha.
My father surprised me with his slide presentation.

While the guests are eating, these guys are entertaining them.
They have a lot of cool tricks.
Photo-op with the stunt
During idle time, the slide show which is full of my photos is playing continuously.

Lol at my old self
My ex-dormmates, statue people and the juggler
I don’t even know what I’m up to.
I look crazy.
Striking a pose!
After my 18th birthday, I just celebrate my birthdays by treating my friends outside. This coming 21st birthday of mine, I will just have a house party celebration with some international friends. I know that in America, people usually celebrate their 21st birthday by going to a bar but of my guests are minors so I can’t do that. Yes, it’s a party without alcohol but I believe that it’s still can be fun. Yehey for party in the USA! 🙂
