USA Travel Bucket List Update

Days before my flight to the USA, I put together a little bucket list of things of I hope to experience in the land of stars of stripes.  Luckily, I’ve done most of them for the 2 months that I’ve been here. I can’t imagine that I could go to 8 different states, Pennsylvania, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, California, New York, New Jersey, Florida, in just 2 months. Thanks to my family for bringing me to places and giving me the chance of crossing out some in my USA bucket list. I’m staying here in the US for a year or more, so let’s see what I can cross off my USA travel bucket list.

See the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. For more than half of my life, I’m in love with Harry Potter so being able to see the Hogwarts castle and stroll around Hogsmeade while drinking a butterbeer is better than any dream of mine! I was also able to buy a lot of HP stuff which I’ll forever treasure.

Experience the USA theme park rides. I’m lucky enough to go to four theme parks in my first two months here. I’ve been to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Disney World and Hershey ParkI’m still looking forward to see more theme parks!

Visit San Francisco.  If you want to travel and relax at the same time, go to San Francisco!

Stroll around the New York City downtown. I felt like I was in an episode of How I Met Your Mother or any other movie that was shot in NYC. It was crazy. I cannot emphasize how much I enjoyed New York City. I enjoyed my first time window shopping at Fifth Avenue, New York city strolling, resting at Central Park, eating ice cream from ice cream truck and NY cheese cake from Junior’s, and seeing unusual things that I’ve never seen before.

See the Statue of Liberty. I want to cross this out the next time I visit the city!

Eat a cheesecake in New York.  I always eat NY style cheesecake way back in the Philippines and it tastes really good. I wonder how much more delicious is the NY Cheesecake from New York? Haha! My aunt said that cheesecakes from Junior’s are really good and I couldn’t agree more.

Go to a beach. I’ve been to two beaches here in the United States: Ocean Beach in California and Myrtle Beach in South Carolina.

*That bucketlist completion duration was quite faster than I expected so I decided to add a few more so I will always have something to look forward to.

Experience the New York Christmas. Who does Christmas spirit better than New York?

Update: Finally! I was able to experience the NYC christmas!

Try to do as much winter activities as I can. Skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, tubing or just snowman making? This is the first time and might be the last time (but hopefully not) that I’ll be seeing snow so I should make the most out of it.

Update! I was able to throw A LOT of snowballs. I even had a snowball fight at downtown New York!

(As of 7/30/15) This blog post was written 2 years ago. It seems like visiting the Niagara Falls and Statue of Liberty will make this list complete. On our way to New Jersey, my friend saw the Statue of Liberty from a far and pointed it out to me. I didn’t look because I don’t want to see it for the first time that way. I want to see it up-close. Also, now that I live in New York, I can surely pay it a visit.

  1. I agree about In-N-Out burger, it is overhyped. I was majorly disappointed. Next time you go to New York City, have a pastrami or corned beef sandwich at Katz or Carnegie Deli.

  2. Hey there! Enjoying your blog 🙂 I totally loved my first visit to NYC, too! Have you thought about the western (desert) states and National Parks (Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zion, etc). We did that in 2009, and it was one of the best trips we’ve ever taken, awesome experience. Cheers!

  3. I love your blog! I have done the Niagra Falls boat ride – which was brilliant, and ironically I went to the Harry Potter Studio Tour in London the other day! HP geek. Hopefully I can make my new blog as lovely as yours.

    • Thank you, Tara. Actually, I’ve just started blogging and found out that it’s fun! Cool. I envy you. I’ve always wanted to go there. I bet you’ve been in the platform 9 3/4 and saw the portal. Haha. Blog about the HP studio tour! I’m looking forward to camp in your blog. Cheers!:)

  4. Thanks for visiting me at! It looks like you visited my old “hometown”, Myrtle Beach. Not my favorite place to live be but it was really nice having the beach right there. NYC is a great place to visit too! Now I’m feeling a little homesick. I’m glad I can enjoy these places through others like yourself and share my experiences in a foreign land too! Happy travels!

  6. I am so glad you’re crossing stuff off your bucket list and having a great time! I’m going to be visiting Victoria, Canada during the Christmas holiday. My bucket list, unfortunately, is full of unaffordable dreams. Like Europe, Tahiti, Southeast Asia, etc. Ah well.
And thanks for visiting my blog!

    • Thanks! I wish you’ll have a very nice Christmas vacation. Be positive. Nothing is impossible. 🙂 If you will go to a Southeast Asia trip, I hope you won’t skip the Philippines! We’ve got lots of very nice beaches. 🙂

  7. Great going Bella 🙂 I can absolutely relate to it as when I first moved to US , I had almost similar list 🙂

Good luck with your ventures and thanks for the follow.
