The Islands of Adventure is a theme park in Orlando, Florida that brings you to a journey to different themed islands, namely Marvel Super Hero Island, Toon Lagoon, Jurassic Park, The Lost Continent, Seuss Landing and last but not the least, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which will stupefy fans. Yes, I am biased towards the HP World since I am a potterhead and I’ve been waiting long before to visit my dream school, Hogwarts.
Port of Entry
The Pharos tower marks the park’s main entrance. You can find a lot of shops and services in this area.
I couldn’t agree more with this!
Seuss Landing is inspired by the books of Dr. Seuss and designed especially for young children. Moreover, the place is filled with bright colors and fun music that will bring you back to childhood.
Here is the biggest ‘Cat in the Hat’ hat. I guess, a lot of Isabelas can fit inside.
Just like in the book, there is no single straight line in this place.
Even the garbage cans in this place are awesome!
In the wubbulous world of Dr. Suess, cats and hats are well-loved. Thing 1, thing 2… and a lot of ‘things’ can also be found!
The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train ride! No green eggs and ham for me please… because this ride is such a tease!
Think you! :)))
Marvel Super Hero Island
Tadaaa! The daily Superhero parade! Marvel characters such as Captain America, Wolverine, Spiderman, The Incredible Hulk, Doctor Doom, Magneto, Green Goblin and King Pin are featured in this park. Thus, this place is a dream for kids who grew up on the comics.
Even though I am not fond of comics, I still love this place because of Captain America and the thrilling rides. Oh, Captain America! :”)
We were at the line to the Spiderman ride and Captain America passed by. I want to have a photo with him but we were already near the ride entrance so I just called him and sent him a big wave. Luckily, he waved back. It made my day!
Oh, Bruce Banner. Why do you have to be so….. strong? Haha! Expectant mothers and those with heart, neck, or back problems should skip this one.
This is the most thrilling ride I’ve ever been to! I felt weightless! Hulk, smash!!!!
Half of the ride
The pre-ride set-up is also amazing. It’s a replica of Peter Parker’s office. We waited for almost an hour but it’s worth the wait.
It’s cool. Isn’t it?
The Lost Continent
In the Lost Continent, ancient myths and legends become reality. Sinbad’s Bazaar, a Middle Eastern marketplace, and The Lost City can be found in this area.
Here we are roaming around in the world of Greek gods and goddesses.
Our journey with Sinbad is about to begin as we pass this gate.
What a lovely place!
Breath-taking live-action stunt show!
We’re about to witness Poseidon’s powers!
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
Visiting the Wizarding World of Harry Potter was a dream that turned into reality!!!
Yes, I am supporting Potter since 2000!
This is the pre-ride part of the Dragon Challenge, a pair of intertwined inverted roller coasters. The most fun part of the ride is I forgot to put my camera in the locker so I had to hide and hold it all through out the ride. It was an unforgettable experience for me.
The Flying Ford Anglia! It could fit eight people, six trunks, two owls, and a rat comfortably.
Off to the Hogwarts’ castle, through the wall between platforms 9 and 10, aka Platform 9 3/4!
Here is my dream school, Hogwarts! Inside is the centerpiece of the attraction, The Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. The ride is a walk-through of my boyfriend’s journey. It is wonderful ride for muggles like me!
I turned 11 but I haven’t got my Hogwarts letter yet because Dobby is blocking my mail.
I wish I can live there!
The Beaubaxton girls! Oh, Fleur.
Now, we’re off to Hogsmeade!
Muggles alert! The good thing is there are no dementors roaming around that day. Haha!
“There were shelves upon shelves of the most succulent-looking sweets imaginable. Creamy chunks of nougat, shimmering pink squares of coconut ice, fat, honey-coloured toffees; hundreds of different kinds of chocolate in neat rows; there was a large barrel of Every Flavour Beans, and another of Fizzing Whizzbees, the levitating sherbet balls that Ron had mentioned; along yet another wall were ‘Special Effects’ sweets: Drooble’s Best Blowing Gum (which filled a room with bluebell-coloured bubbles that refused to pop for days), the strange, splintery Toothflossing Stringmints, tiny black Pepper Imps (‘breathe fire for your friends!’), Ice Mice (‘hear your teeth chatter and squeak!’), peppermint creams shaped like toads (‘hop realistically in the stomach!’) , fragile sugar-spun quills and exploding bonbons.”
Honey dukes is famous for its rare wizarding sweets! I bought a pumpkin juice and a pack of Every Flavour Beans. I was lucky that I was not able to pick a booger flavored bean. However, I tasted the earthworm and soap beans.
In 1996, Dolores Umbridge offered Harry Potter pumpkin juice when she wanted to secretly administer Veritaserum to him, but he chose tea instead. Opposite attracts…. so I chose Pumpkin Juice over tea! 🙂
“Why don’t we go and have a butterbeer in the Three Broomsticks, it’s a bit cold, isn’t it?”
Here is my almost finished butterbeer. It tastes like heaven!
Fred and George Weasley’s favorite place!
There you go! That’s my Island of Adventure experience! Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get a lot of photos in the Jurassic Park and Toon Lagoon since the rides that we rode there will get my camera wet. Haha!
